PAPERBEADS: WEARBALE AND STYLISH ACCESSORIES
I remember way back 2011 I felt the need to search for the things I can create out of RECYCLING PAPERS, actually paper pages like old magazines and brochures. I couldn't help not to keep and collect brochures, leaflets, stationery card stocks, old magazines etc., It isn't because I am a hoarder for nothing but what I saw how I could recycle papers instead of just crampling them and throwing to the waste basket. In making special hand-crafted items out of old but beautiful papers. Inexpensive items I could sell or give as gifts to special people on special days.
Well, to cut it short I have passion for arts and crafts, most especially when it comes to papers. I like to cut papers or fold 'em and glue them together, when I was young, I remembered creating purse, bags and slippers made of papers. Funny right? But I was asking my friends if they want it I can sell. LOL! That's funnier but true!
Good thing the internet era had come, and I have watched several YouTube videos after google search when I typed in "paper crafts" (but not the usual folded papers like origami, no! I was searching for something sellable in mind, with a targeted market) then there it goes I got to see things about beads made out of paper, fell in love with PAPER BEADS and paper beads making. I learned how people from Uganda make a living out of making admirable beautiful paper beads. Historically, it begun in the Victorian Era though, where ladies spent their free time rolling papers, they were making curtains and other stuff out of it.

During the Victorian era in the late 1800's women were making paper beads as a constructive way to pass the time. In my end I personally see it as a way of recycling used and old paper materials of different kinds, in a more artistic and fashionable way. I became so passionate making paper beads of different sizes, shapes, color coatings, and weight.
I felt delighted when I discovered that paper beads beyond past time can become source of the following things:
1. Full-time Accessory Business - Based with my research there are some accessory makers who are very open in combining and mixing up of different materials like gemstone, glass, plastic, wooden beads and paper beads to create lovely fancy wears, there are some who can even design jewelries with paper beads as well.
2. Passionate Paper Beads Makers - If there are people who are not inclined with business but are helplessly soaked in creating artsy paper beads only as a hobby, I see an opportunity here for you to supply accessory makers with your well-crafted and high-quality produce.
3. DIY (Do it Yourself ) - There are type of people that see endless and boundless ideas when it comes to making stuffs out of paper material. Paper beads are not just there to be strung into long strands of nylon or thread, since it is a flexible and a unique artistic material that can put life as decors for boxes, picture frames, scrap book, key chain ends, you can also fill display bottles with these and a lot of other things were it can be glued to serve as a decorative stuff.
4. Recycling - There's no need of crumpling wrong print outs in the bin, fixing clutters of junk mails, paper bags from grocery, old newspapers, used gift wrappers, but two of my favorites are construction paper and memo pad, these can be set aside for your paper beads making project.
I have had meticulously hand crafted every piece of my paper beads, coated them well and made them appear to look like pearls, shells, wood, plastic beads and they are waterproof too. Nail polish for top coat t make sure it's not irritating to skin. To harden them like the usual plastic beads. Varnish and other sort of coating materials to ensure the paper beads will be plastic like beads in terms of quality. It delights me the most when people would say that, "Are you serious these are beads made of paper?" Big YES for my answer! I was feeling awesome looking back at my brilliant colorful pieces of paper beads
I hope this inspire you and I will be glad to hear from you since you can email me at vangeline.vm19@gmail.com
The additional but necessary materials like coatings to harden and highlight the natural beauty of the paper beads material. Aim to make 100% waterproof paper beads, those stuffs that can be bought in your local stores are not that expensive, but I think it would be better to start with minimal expenses to make it more rewarding, isn't it? If so, would you like to have those without touching your salary?
